FMM Win Sixth Successive Scottish Championships
Field Marshal Montgomery won their sixth consecutive Scottish Championships at Dumbarton on 26th July, 2014.
The band performed its No. 1 MSR set, Balmoral Highlanders, John Roy Stewart and Charlie’s Welcome. The weather for most of the day was overcast and mild, however this wasn’t to last with heavy downpours causing the cancellation of the march past and a smaller prize giving taking place, instead, in the VIP tent.
Speaking after the contest, Pipe Major Richard Parkes MBE said, “The band put in an excellent performance today. I am very happy with how all sections are shaping up ahead of the World Pipe Band Championships next month. We are working extremely hard to ensure we are as prepared as we can be for the big event.”
FMM Drum Major Samantha Gordon continued her successful run taking 3rd place in the final of the Adult section.
