Clean Sweep at Ulster Championships

Field Marshal Montgomery enjoyed a clean sweep of first places at the Ulster Championships on Saturday, 8th August.

The competition was held in the beautiful grounds of Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor with the Mourne Mountains providing a stunning backdrop.

The band performed twice, drawing their No. 1 MSR – Brigadier General Cheape of Tiroran, Blair Drummond and Pretty Marion – and their No. 1 “A Wee Bit out of the Ordinary” medley.

FMM has enjoyed a very successful season to date, winning 7 of the 8 contests in which they’ve competed.

“I am extremely happy with the band’s performances this year. All sections are playing better than ever and the consistency in results, especially in ensemble, is particularly pleasing,” commented Pipe Major Richard Parkes MBE. “We are in great shape for the World Championships next week and I’m looking forward to putting in some excellent performances to challenge for the top spot once again.”
