• Mark was one of the featured pipers in the BBC programme 'Pipe Dreams'. He is married to Lorna with 3 beautiful daughters, Courtney, Anna and the latest addition Molly, who was born the week prior to the 2003 Worlds.

• Mark previously played with Upper Crossgare Pipe Band and Cullybackey Pipe Band.

• His favourite competition and concert pipe band is Simon Fraser University Pipe Band and their Pipe Sergeant Jack Lee is his favourite solo player.

• He is a well-known composer, having penned many tunes for the band over the years, and published his own book of music entitled The Full Monty in 2004.

• Bono, Phil Collins and Shania Twain are his favourite singers.

• He regularly plays football, golf and snooker.
