• Gavin won the Under 18 World Solo Drumming Championship in 2001 and has also won numerous solo awards in Ireland, including the All Ireland and Ulster Intermediate Championships.

• He has completed grades 1 - 8 in theory and practice of music at the Northern Ireland Piping & Drumming School and is now an instructor.

• His tutors are his father Fred Noade and Terry Smyth.

• His favourite solo drummers are Andy Scullion and Jim Kilpatrick.

• He previously played with Frank Rainey Memorial Pipe Band.

• Gavin plays indoor football and Squash on a regular basis.
