• Gordon is a familiar face on the solo piping circuit in Scotland having won many prizes including the Silver Medal at Oban in 2004 along with overall winner at Dunrobin Castle in the same year.

• He has previously won two British Championships in Grade 1 with Strathclyde Police Pipe Band.

• His major piping influences include Walter Drysdale, Pipe Major Ian McLellan BEM, Kenneth MacDonald, Duncan Johnstone and Ronald Morrison.

• He is a keen Rangers supporter with his favourite player being the Ibrox legend Ally McCoist.
