Some facts about Jonathan:

• Jonathan was taught by Tom Buchanan, Winston Pollock and the late Alex Craig, all of whom he credits with influencing his piping career.

• Jonathan was the Pipe Major of the Monkstown Mossley Novice Juvinile Pipe Band, where he led them to fourth place at the World Championships in 2005. He was also a member of the Ballycoan Pipe Band for several years.

• Jonathan is a budding solo competitor on the local scene, having just won the All Ireland Solo Championships at the Junior level in 2008.

• He notes that his favourite drink has to be Jack Daniels and Coke.
