Some facts about Jonathan:

• Jonathan finished 2nd in the Silver Medal at Inverness in 2002 and in the same year he was overall winner at the Duncan Johnstone Memorial Competition, winning both the Piobaireachd and MSR events. He has also won the All Ireland and Ulster Senior titles in 1993 and 2002 respectively.

• His tutors include Robert Wallace and Harry Stevenson. Graham Lamont and Norman Dodds have also had a major influence on his piping career.

• His favourite competition bands are Simon Fraser University and Victoria Police Pipe Band.

• If he could choose his own MSR set, it would include Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band, Susan McLeod and Charlie's Welcome.

• His favourite singers are Delores Keene, Stan Rodgers and Christy Moore.
