Some facts about Michael:

• Michael was initially instructed by Ann Gray through the juvenile Ogden Legion Pipe Band organisation in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

• Other previous bands include Clan MacBain and Alberta Caledonia pipe bands; of which he was a member for eight years.

• Michael originally came to Glasgow to attend the Glasgow School of Art, eventually graduating with a BFA (Hons) from the Alberta College of Art & Design.

• He particularly enjoys solo competition and is currently tutored by Major (Ret.) Gavin Stoddart MBE BEM and Pipe Major Ian MacLellan BEM.

• As an avid Rangers supporter, Michael enjoys a pint at the Vicky Pub in Partick before heading to Ibrox.
