Some facts about Emmett:

Emmett
was initially taught by his uncle Martin Conway and Pipe Major
Noel Mullen. He currently receives tuition in both Piobaireachd
and light music from fellow band member
Jonathan Greenlees and
occasionally travels to the College of Piping for Piobaireachd
tuition from Robert Wallace.

Emmett is an avid solo competitor, having won many prizes in
the junior grades including first at Inveraray, Saltcoats and
the Strathclyde Police Junior Solos, as well as featuring in the
prizes at Uist, Blair Atholl and London. Emmett has also won two
Ulster titles and was crowned Northern Ireland Young Piper of
the Year 2008.

Emmett has previously played with the Ballinderry Bridge Pipe
Band, having won the British, All Ireland, European, World and
Cowal Championships in Grade 2, as well as being crowned
Scottish and Irish Champions of Champions.

Emmett’s piping career has been
influenced by his father Charlie, his uncle Martin, his tutor
Jonathan Greenlees
and Robert Wallace, Andrew Wright, Tom
Speirs and many more.

Emmett said his favourite competition bands would include the
defunct Victoria Police and Simon Fraser University.

Emmett likes a variety of music, including Gareth Brookes,
Elvis ‘The King’ Presley and Johnny Cash.
