Megan
previously played with the Prince Charles Pipe Band of San Francisco and
Strathclyde Police Pipe Band.
She was
initially taught by Bill Merriman and later by Bruce Woodley. She currently
receives tuition in both Piobaireachd and light music from Willie McCallum.
Megan has an MA Honours degree in English Literature and Philosophy from
Glasgow University. She works as the Development Officer for the National
Piping Centre.
Major influences on her piping career are
Pipe
Major Richard Parkes MBE, and her father Jim Harrington for all his
support.
Megan is married to fellow FMM piper
Ryan
Canning.
Megan’s favourite food is
sushi, and of course she would never turn down a cold pint!
